Quitting porn is easier than you think
This post is for anyone who is struggling with porn addiction. I urge you to read it, but if you don't care about any of my rambling, go read the EasyPeasy Method by Hackauthor² (it's free and has helped me and thousands of other people quit permanently)
If you don't know, the EasyPeasy method is a short, free e-book on quitting porn. What's special about it is that it goes against pretty much all mainstream advice you'll find on the internet and yet it works wonders.
Before I get to the main point of this post, I want to give a little bit of a backstory about myself for context.
Back in 2021, I realized my porn consumption had become a problem. I browsed the internet for ways to quit, yet I had no results. Youtube self improvement channels and NoFap forums had convinced me that I needed to rely on my willpower, to resist the urges and that failing was simply a part of the process. It wasn't until next year that I found the EasyPeasy Method (through a meme of all places) and in a span of 3 days I was already porn-free and knew with certainty that I would never touch porn ever again.
This caused a huge shift in how I viewed the internet, because I was completely oblivious to a solution that could have saved me years of trouble and not only that, it was as if NOBODY knew about the book. Even searching for it on Google or DuckDuckGo yields very few results, most youtube channels discussing it are small, with videos that don't surpass 500k views at best. Even r/NoFap, the biggest subreddit dedicated to helping people overcome their addiction, deletes any posts that mention EasyPeasy because it constitutes "spam" and "copyright infringement".
I don't want to seem like I'm vehemently promoting this book, because the point I want to make is that there's plenty of misinformation on the internet, most of it spread by people with good intentions. Such misinformation can obscure real and helpful advice if it goes mainstream and this is a problem because it's very difficult to convince people that what they know through conventional wisdom is wrong.
Quitting is not about relying on willpower or overcoming your dopamine addiction. It's about addressing the beliefs that perpetuate porn usage and getting rid of the fear that keeps you stuck.
Quitting porn can be easy, it's the false beliefs that make it difficult.
